Session 1 - HR Operations and Shared Services - What's New
February 11, 2021 | 3:00-4:30 PM EST WAIT LIST STARTED

Companies faced many challenges in 2020 including COVID-19, natural disasters, and theeffects of deep societal divides.  This has had a huge impact on organizations’ business results, business models and employees in some extreme and different ways.  Human Resources has been at the center of much of this and has made adjustments to operate in this new environment.  This CAHRS Series of working groups will focus on what we are learning from this and how it will impact the HR Operating Model as we move into the future. Attendees to these sessions vary based on the focus of the working group but would include HR Shared Service leaders, HR COE leaders and HR Business Partners.

In this first working group in the series, CAHRS Executive Director Beth Flynn-Ferry will explore how CAHRS companies are adjusting their HR Operations and Shared Services groups as they come out of the pandemic.  Some of the questions we may address include:

•    What areas of support that were previously thought to be difficult to move to a shared service environment are now opportunities?
•    What new services or technologies are you investing in for 2021?
•    How are you realigning HRSS to the broader HR Operating model?

About our CAHRS Series of Working Groups

The CAHRS Series of working groups are designed to examine a particular theme or topic from a number of different perspectives. The other sessions included in the “Rethinking the HR Operating Model” working group series are listed below and can be found in the events section of the CAHRS website.  Individuals are encouraged to sign up for as many of the sessions in the series as match their interests and availability.

•    Adjusting COEs post COVID | March 17, 2021,
•    HR Business Partners – Lessons from Working Remotely | April 15, 2021,
•    Aligning HR Capabilities with Changes to the HR Operating Model | May 13, 2021.

Our virtual working groups are kept small (15-20 participants) to allow for rich discussion and best practice sharing.  Given the limited size of each session, we ask that you only register for a session if you will be able to attend for the duration.  Prior to the session, attendees should give some thought to the questions included in the description, so they are prepared to share with the group.  We also strongly prefer that participants be on camera during the session to allow for more engaging interaction.  If for some reason after you sign up for the working group, something comes up last minute (especially while many of us are working from home), it would be great to get even a last minute e-mail advising us that you cannot attend as we sometimes have a waiting list.
