This session is free of charge to CAHRS partner firms, but participation is limited to no more than twenty-five attendees per session. The working group will run from 8:30-3:00pm with a continental breakfast and working lunch.

Over the last few years, interest in HR analytics has grown considerably. Recent case studies suggest that analytics-based insights have been critical to improving workforce retention, efficiency, and productivity. However, developing analytics capabilities is not without challenges—asking the right questions, collecting the right data, and gaining buy-in from colleagues are just some of the potential obstacles to execution.

Although companies may be at different stages in their quest to make decisions more evidence-based, those responsible for HR analytics encounter common issues. Among them:   

  • Prioritizing which issues to address through analytics,
  • Modifying organizational structure to better support analytics,
  • Deciding whether (and how) to implement artificial intelligence/machine learning-based solutions,
  • Securing and deploying systems/technology to facilitate data collection and analysis,
  • Communicating findings throughout the organization (e.g., what information, how often, and in what form),
  • Implementing change based on insights revealed though analytics,
  • Balancing “forward-looking” uses of analytics with operational/day-to-day needs.

In preparation for the meeting, please spend some time reflecting on your own personal experiences in the above areas. Also, if you have any success stories or examples of analytics in action at your organization, it would be great if you would be willing to share those with the rest of the participants. During the meeting, we’ll spend time talking about each of the areas as well as others that are identified through the course of our conversations together.
